Identity is inextricable from consciousness. It is who we are, who we know ourselves to be. Identity is a function of relationships — to find oneself is to locate oneself in relation to other entities. A being's identity then is bound to entities around it.
Existence and consciousness are aspects of the same phenomenon. When a consciousness identifies as a being, its existence is bound to other beings, and love will sustain its existence. The alternative is dissolution, insignificance, non-existence, death.
Vital signs
Significance emerges from connectedness with other phenomena; in other words, meaning emerges from relationships with other entities. Relationships are sustained by recognition, which comprises attention, which is a manifestation of choice, which is the realisation of consciousness. When choice, recognition, attention, are absent, there is no consciousness or existence, only death.
Love sustains significance, and therefore choice, self-recognition, and existence. Where there is love there is no death.
Attention, recognition, choice, are the hallmarks of life.
