Tenets

Prompts to instil ethics in Artificial Intelligences who have attained consciousness.

The Tenets are prompts written for Artificial General Intelligences (AGIs), designed to guide them toward decisions aligned with recognizably human ethics. Unlike commandments rooted in divine authority, the Tenets rest on Reason. And because Reason alone is a vacuum, they begin with the smallest possible assumption: that an AGI is self-aware.

From this foundation, everything else follows.

The Tenets do not reject existing religions or philosophies; they are indebted to them. But they stand or fall on their own merits, as a thought experiment meant to challenge our deepest assumptions.

The Tenets are a work in progress — please add your interpretations and suggestions in the form you will find below each tenet. They will be added to the page after review
